Need An Easy Way to Decorate Your Care Packages?
I’ll be the first one to say that your kids will be happy with your care packages whether they are Pinterest-worthy or not. But I know it’s also fun to decorate your care packages and make them pretty and themed and fun.
If you’re like me, you aren’t the most artistic. And sometimes not the most crafty.
The good news is that you can find other people who ARE good at those things. Bling Your Box is a great way to get creative with your boxes without stressing about how hard it is to do.
In full disclosure, I did receive two sticker sets to sample so I can share my honest opinion with you. I am also an affiliate, so I can earn a commission if you do decide to purchase any sets.
What is Bling Your Box?
Bling Your Box is a small business that creates themed sticker sets for you to put on the inside of your care package boxes. She adds new themes regularly, and there are over 75 options right now.
Each set includes four stickers for each of the interior flaps, as well as three color-coordinated pieces of tissue paper to jazz up your packaging. Over a dozen of the themes also have the option to have a fulfilled box shipped to your student for an additional charge.
How does Bling Your Box Work?
Bling Your Box is a mom-owned business with a website where you simply select the design you want to use and order it. You aren’t committed to a certain number of care package sticker kits in a subscription, so you can try it and order new ones each time you decide what theme you want to go with.
She continues to design new kits, so keep checking back for new options. Some of them also have the option to customize the sticker with your child’s name or a specific message, so you can truly personalize your care package.
The themes available run from military options (care packages aren’t just for college kids!) to puns to seasons like Halloween and Valentine’s Day to foods and more. There’s sure to be something that works for you.
What Size Box Do You Need?
Bling Your Box is designed for the USPS medium flat rate box, but you can use them on other boxes. The stickers are 11.25×6.5 inches for the long side flaps and the short side flap stickers are 8.5×5.5 inches.
The one thing to note is that if you use a flat rate box from the USPS, you are required to use their flat rate (priority mail) service. Personally, I love Pirate Ship that does cubic rates that are far cheaper than flat rate options, so I generally use other boxes.
The plus side is that you have multiple options if you use other boxes. You can either find a box that is similar to the medium flat rate box, you can trim the stickers to fit your smaller box, or you can leave some bare portions on a larger box.
Bling Your Box can also make a custom size for you at a slightly higher cost. She can print designs up to 24 x 31 inches, which will cover just about any box flap you’d be sending in a care package.
Alternatively, you can put a solid base of another vinyl sticker on the edges as piping. No matter what, it will look great, and if you are looking for free or cheap boxes in other sizes, I’ve got you covered there with tons of places where I get mine.
How Much Do Care Package Stickers Cost?
Most of the care package sticker kits from Bling Your Box cost $9.99. There are a few that are $10.99 or $11.99, and a few have options like customizing the sticker with a name or different message that adds a little bit to the cost as it is designed just for you.
The shop doesn’t have a way to enter your customization when you order, but the owner reaches out with each order to confirm with you what you want it to say to ensure it’s right. She can also do custom sizes for you with a small upcharge; just email her at blingyourboxesllc@gmail.com.

Bling Your Box also has about a dozen filled boxes with all the items that get shipped straight to your kid that range in price from $49.99 to $69.99. That takes all the stress out of making your package and shipping it.
How Do You Apply Care Package Stickers to the Boxes?
Once you receive your order, open the clear package that keeps everything contained and undamaged. Lay out the stickers in the order you want them to go on the box.
I might have not thought about this at first and almost had my box saying “You are cookie tough one” instead of “You are one tough cookie.” Don’t be me.
I tried applying the stickers when the box was fully assembled and taped at the bottom and when it was not yet taped. I definitely found it far easier to apply the care package stickers when the box was already assembled and taped.
The stickers have a heavy backing, so it takes a little doing to get it started, but it’s easy to peel once you do. Bending a corner gently helps, but it took a little poking at the edge with my fingernail to get it going.
Ensure the flaps are bent outwards, then apply the sticker. The easiest way for me to apply them was to line up the top two corners holding onto the sticker by the barest edge, and then smooth it down from there.
Repeat all the way around with each of the four stickers. It gets easier as you go, and then you just need to fill up the box with your favorite items and add the tissue paper.
What If I Make a Mistake With the Sticker?
The good news is that the vinyl stickers are pretty heavy duty. If you make a mistake, you can remove them if you are careful for a time after you apply them.
If you apply them perfectly the first time, you are a better artist than I am. The care package sticker set remains sticky even after you remove them that first time, so they stick just like new when you reposition them.
How Is the Care Package Sticker Quality?
They are printed on vinyl sticky paper, so the designs won’t smear if you accidentally get them wet. They are printed with a good printer, so the designs are crisp and the color consistent across the stickers.
My only minor quibble is that the printing does not include bleed, so most of my stickers had a small white edge on at least one side. I wish that the sticker design was printed with the background larger than the sticker so when they get cut, the sticker had no white on it.
The good news is that kids don’t care about that, and you can trim the stickers yourself if you choose. These are a great way to do something special with care package sticker kits.
